Artificial Sweeteners Alter Gut Bacteria and Cause Metabolic Dysfunction Leading to Obesity and Diabetes

(NaturalNews) To be able to explain this research, it is best to get a few things out in the open for the global community of health enthusiasts to appreciate. The “artificial sweetener” conversation and research is changing, so there must be a new definition of what artificial sweetener means and the platform upon which they are ALL sold to the unknowing public. Consider the following definitions that serve as building blocks for total appreciation of this breaking research revealed about human metabolism:

Metabolic is defined as relating to or deriving from the metabolism of a living organism.

Metabolism is defined as the chemical processes that occur within a living organism in order to maintain life.

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of biochemical and physiological abnormalities (and conditions) that occur together, such as increased blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol levels, high blood sugar level and excess body fat around the waist. This greatly increases the risk of stroke, heart disease and, of course, diabetes.

Specific artificial sweeteners were found to alter the gut’s microbial community in HUMANS and mice, and this “multi-pronged” study tells us that this “zero calorie” fake sugar consumption sets in motion metabolic changes associated with diabetes and obesity. How ironic that the very platform upon which artificial sweeteners are sold is the nemesis of their consumers. Want to gain weight? Eat synthetic sweeteners that have ZERO calories. Want to go from borderline diabetic to full -blown diabetic? Eat toxic sugar substitutes that are advertised by skinny, healthy models who don’t eat them.

Stroke, heart disease and diabetes – three “zero calorie” problems you can’t overlook

Though the findings are preliminary, four out of the seven human volunteers eating a diet high in a specific artificial sweetener developed impaired glucose metabolism, a major warning sign for type 2 diabetes. Manufacturers of artificial sweeteners have been claiming for decades that sugar substitutes pass through the gut undigested. This is a BIG LIE.

Basically, that very diet of zero-calorie sweet-tasting foods and drinks is contributing to weight gain and metabolic syndrome — and to that cluster of biochemical and physiological abnormalities that your MD won’t be able to “figure out” or even help with ANY kind of medication. And why is that? Because without proper advice, you will continue consuming a laboratory-made synthetic sweetener that contains chemicals that alter your normal body chemistry right in the biological seat of the entire immune system — your gut.

The new research study, led by a computational biologist and an immunologist at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, suggests that artificial sweeteners may promote obesity and diabetes, after all of these years that the creators said just the opposite, that they were safe and harmless.

The study: 11 weeks of drinking water doped with saccharin, sucralose or aspartame!

The results: Mice had “abnormally high glucose levels in their blood after eating.” This glucose metabolism spike happened in just five weeks and is considered the hallmark of diabetes. Saccharin (a.k.a. Sweet’N Low) was the quickest contributor to high blood glucose levels, so the researchers zeroed in on it. Also, it appears to have the same effect, regardless of whether the mice were lean or overweight. Meanwhile, all the mice eating the glucose-laced water were shown to have NORMAL metabolisms.

Do you think that the scientists who invented these no-calorie poisons knew this all along? You bet they did. Many were hired by pharmaceutical companies to drive business to the allopathic doctors who prescribe useless medications. The research shows the genetic analyses of the microbes in the intestines of animals (including humans) and reveals MAJOR differences in microbial groups that are responsible for proper glucose metabolism. “This is the home run experiment,” said immunologist Cathryn Nagler of the University of Chicago. “It’s telling you that it is some change in the bacterial community that is detrimental.”

What is clear is that these artificial sweeteners DO NOT pass through the intestines without effect. They’re also killing off good bacteria. Combined with heavy antibiotic use, many humans who consume these toxic sweeteners are setting themselves up for health detriment. If you want a healthy alternative, try Stevia or organic xylitol, and be on your way back to good health.
