Captain Strome Comes Through in Canada’s Debut at 2017 World Juniors
Mitch Marner predicted his buddy Dylan Strome was going to take the 2017 World Junior championship by storm.
It might just be one game, but it appears Marner’s prediction has started to play itself out.
When Strome scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period of Canada’s 5-3 victory over Russia Monday at the Air Canada Centre, chances are Marner was wearing a big smile on his face the moment the puck crossed the goal line.
When asked recently about Canada’s chances in the tournament, Marner was quite candid in handicapping how Strome would fare.
“I think he’s going to take over that tournament like he does in any game that he’s in,” Marner boldly said.
There is a long way to go in this event, but it Strome already has made a significant impact just 60 minutes into the competition.
