Blue Jays Manager John Gibbons Praises Troy Tulowitzki’s Defence
In a series that’s all about Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons weighed in on what the deal that made him a Blue Jay meant to Toronto.
“It was huge,” Gibbons said. “He’s one of the marquee players in the game and he wasn’t the only player we traded for. We made some big ones. That sent a good message to the fan base and to that locker room.
“It paid off big time. Without Troy, I don’t think we get into the playoffs last year. I love everything about him. He’s taken some heat along the way about his offence but he’s swinging it good right now. He was swinging it good before the quad injury and he’s right back in the same place now. If you eliminate anything he did with his bat, just on what he did defensively for us last year, he was worth it.”
