J.J. Watt Injury Puts Texans in Unenviable Position

One man does not a team make. Unless…
The Houston Texans, who on Wednesday announced J.J. Watt, their one-man defensive wrecking crew, has been placed on injured reserve, will be severely testing the sports cliche.
Watt will miss at least eight games, possibly the remainder of the season, after incurring an undisclosed back injury last week.
Either scenario is a serious blow to a team that relies heavily on its defence. Even if he returns, its questionable if he can be the disruptive force he was before having off-season back surgery, although he remains positive, writing on Twitter: “Adversity sucks, your attitude toward it doesn’t have to. I will be back.”
The three-time NFL defensive player of the year, Watt had never missed a game, but there has been evidence something was amiss.
