Ty Montgomery has put fantasy sites in an interesting dilemma: Is he a WR, a RB or both?

The question was brought to the forefront after his solid performance last week as the Packers top rushing option. Coming into the season, he was primarily a WR and therefore carried that designation across fantasy sites, but now the script has flipped.

So far, only ESPN has added the RB designation for him while Yahoo and CBS say that once the Packers officially list him as a running back, they will follow suit.

While being able to start him at either RB or WR will certainly help some owners, he remains a better option at WR if you have the depth at RB. On Yahoo, he is projected to be the 16th-best WR this week or the 15th-best RB, but considering most leagues will see you starting three WRs, that may be where Montgomery carries the most value.
