Attitude vs. Altitude When Maple Leafs Play in Denver

The Maple Leafs were going to head west with a burr lodged in the team saddle.
First up for the Leafs on the two-game trip will be the Colorado Avalanche, which beat the Leafs on Dec. 11 in Toronto by a score of 3-1. That was the result despite Toronto recording a season-high 52 shots on goal.
“It’s tough with the altitude to get adjusted, but that’s no excuse,” said centre Auston Matthews, who played in tournaments in Denver in minor hockey.
