Argonauts Players Still Reeling From Trade of Good Pal T.J. Heath

It’s been a few days now and things have settled down somewhat, but the Argos’ defence still isn’t totally thrilled with the team shipping out their interceptions leader and highly popular halfback T.J. Heath in the Drew Willy deal.
In fact, there were some pretty sour Argos, not to mention Heath himself, who got pretty worked up when their post-game celebration turned sour quickly at the news Heath had been traded.
All the defence knew in the immediate aftermath of Sunday’s win was that their good friend Heath, coming off a two-interception game and celebrating his birthday no less, was being shipped to Winnipeg. Heath broke the news to his teammates himself and the wound was still very raw.
The mood in the room went from elation to despair in a nanosecond.
“I can’t speak for T.J. but for me we were so excited about the win and then it was very sudden,” teammate and good friend A.J. Jefferson. “Everyone kind of wanted an explanation. We didn’t really know who we had gotten for him or anything like that. We were just kind of taken back and surprised.”
