Laval police are searching for a 78-year-old Carmelle Auger, who left her home in Laval’s Auteuil neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon and hasn’t returned.

According to police, she left around 3:30 p.m. to go for a walk.

Her loved ones are worried for her safety. Auger suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

They say she is capable of walking very long distances. She has wandered in the past and was found several kilometres from home.

Police say she left the house wearing a thin jacket and, with the cold nighttime temperatures, they are worried for her safety.

Auger is 5-2″, and weighs about 130 pounds. She has white hair, hazel eyes and speaks French.

She left the house wearing a brown jacket, beige pants, black shoes with a floral pattern and an orange beret.

Anyone with information is asked to call 450-662-INFO (4636) or 911 and give the following file number: LVL 171107 069.
