Free rent offered as move-in incentive at these Montreal properties

Montreal landlords and property managers have increasingly offered rental incentives as move-in motivation, some even including free rent (and some offering skydiving?).

Because of the pandemic, supply has increased and demand has decreased when it comes to rental properties across the city.

With a lack of jobs and tourism, a decreased need for students to rent out space, and people moving back in with family, Rentals.ca has highlighted five properties in and around Montreal offering free rent.

The Ottawa-based rental agency says incentives could continue to be offered through 2022, depending on how quickly COVID-19 vaccines are distributed and how quickly rental demand can catch up to supply.

If you’re in the market for a new spot, here are some Montreal rental units offering incentives, according to rentals.ca:

450 rue Sherbrooke Est, $915 – $1,985

Move in by April 1 and get two months of free rent and a free skydiving voucher for two. Because this place is literally worth diving into.

2085 rue Guy, $770 – $1,530

This downtown spot is offering two months of free rent (if you move in by April 1) and the duo skydiving tandem.

370 Montreal Rue des Seigneurs, $1,550 – $4,600

A new rental project in Griffintown is offering one, two, and three-bedroom units that include an in-building gym, a penthouse lounge, terrace, running track, and vegetable garden.

Rent now and get 50% off two months when you rent a one-bedroom and 50% off three months when you lease any two-bedroom spot.
