Jays swept by Cubs after 10th inning collapse
CHICAGO – Kevin Pillar certainly looked like he was getting full value for his Wrigley Field experience this weekend.
In his first career visit to the baseball shrine on Chicago’s North Side, Pillar had six hits and a face full of ivy on one of his trademark circus catches Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately he also got a taste of what helped make the Cubs the World Series champions in yet another spectacular late collapse by the Jays.
Despite taking a 5-3 lead to the bottom of the 10th, closer Roberto Osuna and catcher Raffy Lopez self destructed, capped by an Alex Avila bases-loaded walk off single to give the Cubs a 6-5 win.
