We Asked Montrealers About The Strangest Things They’ve Ever Seen In The City
We all know that Montreal can get super weird sometimes. Walking around, one can see an array of zany characters, slapstick situations, and questionable morals, peacefully coexisting in this melting pot we call Montreal.
I’ve seen more strange things that I can remember in this city. Once, I saw a literal red fox cross Notre-Dame, totally oblivious to the traffic. Another time, a gang of drunk women fruitlessly chasing down a rolling bottle of liquor down Mont-Royal. All these stories got me thinking — what Montrealer hasn’t seen something completely strange and totally weird?
We put out a call for stories on our Twitter page, and folks, you didn’t disappoint! What’s the strangest thing you’ve witnessed in Montreal?
First of all, honourable mention to the most original answers. People, if you see an MTL Blog running around the streets, please call the number on its collar, it’s scared and it wants to go home.
Also, Harry Tinders, you’re right — we’ve been slacking on our Twitter content but thanks for participating! We have a team of 30-50 feral hogs working on it, we’ll be better.
Speaking of feral hogs, Montrealers certainly have some wild encounters! Inside or outside, no one is safe from les bêtes de la ville.
I’m not a huge fan of those sky rats, to be honest, but that’s real cute!
Ok, this is even cuter. Though my personal favourite is this cocky guy, seen prowling for some chicks late at night.
