Ravens Stuff Ground Game, Make Bills Look Brutal
If these Buffalo Bills can’t run, these Buffalo Bills can’t pass. More to the point, Tyrod Taylor can’t pass. At least not effectively.
And then the Buffalo Bills can’t win, no matter how well their defence plays.
The Baltimore Ravens underscored this reality on Sunday with resonance and vehemence, as they out-Neanderthaled the Bills 13-7 at MT&T Bank Stadium, in the regular-season opener for both NFL teams.
Buffalo’s rugged, patchwork defence sure wasn’t the problem. After a leaky first half in which Baltimore’s Joe Flacco connected with veteran speedster Mike Wallace for a 66-yard scoring bolt, the Bills defence made adjustments and turned positively ferocious. Practically impenetrable.
Baltimore gained just 83 total yards after the intermission as Bills defenders hit Flacco eight times and sacked him three times (twice by outside linebacker Jerry Hughes).
