What the Puck: Here’s hoping Habs install Alex Galchenyuk at centre

You want some good news? I have some for you.
In a recent issue of the Hockey News, journalist Matt Larkin has a fun piece rating the hottest lines in the National Hockey League and Habs grumbler that I am, I was having a hard time imagining a Montreal Canadiens line in the Top 31 for the simple reason that I’m not sure our team actually has anything resembling a permanent line.
For years, no matter the coach, the Habs have switched up lines like the rest of us change socks. Actually far more frequently than that come to think of it.
But lo and behold, Montreal snuck into the Hockey News list at a respectable No. 18, but the caveat is it’s a line we might never see.
The magazine nominated the trio of Max Pacioretty at left wing, Alex Galchenyuk at centre and newbie Jonathan Drouin at right wing. I love it. But here’s what Larkin wrote: “Please, Mr. Julien? No faith that Habs will let Galchenyuk keep this assignment. They should, though. For now, this is wishful thinking.”
