Provincial police raid Montreal police headquarters

Quebec provincial police confirmed late Thursday that they are conducting a series of evening raids.
One of those locations is Montreal’s police headquarters downtown, Montreal police Chief Philippe Pichet told CBC in a tweet. Pichet would not say why the building was being raided.
Reports indicate the raids were targeting the building’s fourth and ninth floors.
The fourth floor is where internal affairs was located until last winter. Meanwhile, the ninth floor is for the top brass.
Sources have told Radio-Canada that an officer close to the chief is the target of the investigation.
The SQ also conducted searches at Station 38 and some private residences.
