Unhealthy Foods are Taking Over the World’s Diet

Americans do not eat real food any more, says a report on Naturalnews.com, because of this, America has become a country full of sickly humans dying young from heart disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s disease.
“They just eat junk-science, processed food-like products chock full of concentrated salts, synthetic sweeteners, artificial hormones, chemical conditioners, and “preservatives” that add shelf life to the products, all while shortening human life.” Further explained the report, “Looks like food, smells like food, tastes like food – but it’s really just some lab-altered, genetically modified, junk-science food stuff”
This trend however, is common with many first world countries and not just America. To further support this report, researchers at Eat This, Not That! recently compiled a list of 75 of the unhealthiest foods on the planet, and it is no surprise that many of the foods found on the list, are regular “foods”.Some of the foods that made the list are:
Coffee creamer: Many brands of coffee creamer are packed with trans fats, also known as partially hydrogenated soybean and cottonseed oil and contain no cream at all.
Fruit Juice: Even natural fruit juices, they claim, still packs up to 36 grams of sugar per cup—or about what you’d get from whopping 4 Krispy Kreme glazed donuts into a blender.
Diet Soda: Nearly all popular diet sodas contain aspartame, an artificial sweetener that raises glucose levels, overloading the liver and causing the excess to convert into fat.
Fried Foods: Fried chicken, fried calamari, pork rinds, chicken-fried steak. Besides the high fat and calorie content, the main issue with these fried foods is that they contain high levels of inflammatory Advanced Glycation End products, or AGEs. These compounds form when animal-derived products are cooked at high temperatures for a prolonged period of time.
Processed meats: These typically made from red meats high in saturated fats, and they contain high levels of advanced glycation end products (AGEs): inflammatory compounds that are created when these processed meats are dried, smoked, and cooked at high temperatures. Not to mention, those nitrates and nitrites in cured (and natural, “uncured”) meats can turn into carcinogenic nitrosamines when exposed to high heat.
Sugary Cereals: Consuming too much sugar can lead to obesity, which often causes other health problems like diabetes and heart disease. And many cereals pack more sugar into one bowl than you’ll find in a Boston Cream Donut!
Other foods that made the list are frozen entrees, restaurant desserts, white sugar, frosting, pancake syrup, bottled smoothies, charred meats, fastfoods, energy drinks, brown rice, bbq sauce, diet icecream, spot drinks, doritos, chitos, oreos.
Vlad Savov, writer for The Verge, blames this trend on the power of marketing. Marketing by corporations who have turned every traditional event into a reason to stuff our faces with unhealthy foods. Birthday cakes for the birthdays, hotdogs for baseball games, popcorn for movies and candy for Halloween. It has become increasingly difficult for anybody to stick to just healthy foods “Instead, those who wish to eat real food as a matter of course are made to feel like snobs and, given the centrality of food to social interactions, oftentimes outcasts among their own kin” he says
