“Marketing claims” attack on Gweneth Paltrow’s GOOP is a distraction from the truly dishonest medical cons: Prescription medications
(Natural News) Love her or hate her, Gwyneth Paltrow gets a lot of flack for taking part in the natural health community. Her publication Goop has come under fire time and time again, most recently by the TINA.org watchdog organization that purports itself as being “dedicated to empowering consumers to protect themselves and one another against false advertising and deceptive marketing.” TINA.org (Truth in Advertising), hails from Madison, CT and they have filed complaints about Paltrow’s Goopto two different California district attorneys. The group claims that Goop pushes “deceptive health claims” to sell products, but why have they singled out Goop when countless drugs and devices pushed by Big Pharma seem far more deceptive and dishonest?
Bonnie Patten, the executive director of TINA.org, said in a statement, “Goop needs to stop its misleading profits-over-people marketing immediately.” The irony burns, doesn’t it?
While there are many examples of times when the pharmaceutical industry has put profits over people, perhaps the most blatant and unforgivable example is opioids. Opioid pain killers have hit the United States hard and their effects have devastated countless families and taken thousands of lives.
