Hudson’s Bay Co. hires CVS executive Helena Foulkes as new CEO
Hudson’s Bay Co. has plucked a leader in pharmacy retail in the U.S. to head the company as it seeks to get its global and online holdings working more smoothly together.
Helena Foulkes, executive vice-president of CVS Health and president of CVS Pharmacy, will become HBC’s chief executive officer on Feb. 19, replacing Gerald Storch, who stepped down in November after less than two years in the role.
Foulkes will be in charge of HBC’s global strategy and operations across all its banners, including Hudson’s Bay, Saks Fifth Avenue and its European department store chains.
Governor and executive chairperson Richard Baker, who has been acting interim CEO since Storch’s departure, said it was Foulkes’s reputation as a transformational leader that caught HBC’s attention.
