Cristiano Ronaldo Responds to Gay Slur in Best Possible Way
Cristiano Ronaldo proved he is a class act after refusing to stoop to the level of an opponent who reportedly called him a ‘f—-t.’
The U.K.’s Sun reports things got heated during Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday, in which Real Madrid forward Ronaldo had a hat trick.
Video shows Atletico Madrid midfielder Jorge Resurreccion Merodio, aka Koke, and Ronaldo exchanging words and shoves, after which they were both given yellow cards.
Spanish radio station Cadena Cope reports Ronaldo told teammates in the dressing room that Koke had hurled the gay slur at him during the scuffle, with Ronaldo simply hitting back, “A f—-t, yes, but a rich one, b—-.”
“What are you going to do to him?” the teammate asked, according to the radio station.
“Nothing. What can I do?” Ronaldo responded.
Forbes reports Ronaldo makes more than $50 million per year.
