Trottinettes électriques: Montréal n’hésitera pas à sévir

Au lendemain du lancement des trottinettes électriques en libre-service de Lime, alors que des véhicules ont déjà été abandonnés n’importe où, la mairesse de Montréal Valérie Plante a réitéré qu’il s’agissait d’un «privilège» d’opérer dans la métropole.

Plusieurs utilisateurs des trottinettes vertes n’ont pas respecté les stationnements prévus à cet effet peu de temps après leur mise en service, a observé le «24 Heures» mardi. «Comme on le répète, on s’est assuré d’avoir une réglementation très ferme», a mentionné la mairesse en point de presse, mercredi.

En cas d’infraction, la Ville peut donner des amendes à l’opérateur. Le permis octroyé par Montréal peut être retiré si l’opérateur «ne prend pas ses responsabilités». «On a mis la réglementation en amont. On ne veut pas subir, on veut être proactif.»

«Je souhaite que la compagnie comprenne qu’on ne va pas hésiter s’ils n’agissent pas de façon responsable», a-t-elle indiqué.

Les trottinettes ont été déployées mardi dans le centre-ville de Montréal et à Westmount. Ce mode de locomotion sera ensuite rendu disponible dans des arrondissements périphériques.
